Description

The state of pheasant hunting. What more can be said about the endless opportunities given to our upland hunters? South Dakota has always been home to some great wing shooting. Rock Road Outfitters is a special place for groups looking to see a variety of different landscapes and hunting conditions. We take less than 10 groups of hunters per year on our properties to show our clients what real pheasant hunting can be like out here.

If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Description

Hunters can expect the weather to be in the 50’s to 70’s early in the season with the possibility of snow into November. We had a few weekends last season when it turned into blizzard conditions but most of the time the daytime temps will be in the 30’s to 40’s. Our hunting style may vary depending on the size of the group but a hunter can expect to spend most of the day walking and occasionally posting at the end of a field. Our guides will work their tails off to assure you will be in a target rich environment. Hunters can expect to see an abundance of wildlife regardless of what we are hunting.

If bring your own hunting dog, please remember to try and get your dogs in shape before they come out. Dogs that aren’t used to seeing an abundance of birds may have a hard time staying under control in those situations. It is also important to make sure we have plenty of water on hand during the hunt especially early in the season. We do have kennels on some of our properties but travel kennels will be needed in most cases.
